Partners Bulgaria Foundation conducted training for children and youth from Blagoevgrad on “Human rights education and development of democratic culture of young people”

Between October 21st and 23rd in Blagoevgrad, Partners Bulgaria Foundation conducted a training on “Human rights education and development of a democratic culture of young people” under the project “Increasing democratic competence and understanding of human rights among young people”.  The project is implemented in the municipalities of Montana, Varshets, Blagoevgrad and Gotse Delchev in partnership with the Academy of Human Rights, Norway and with the financial support by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism.

The training helped students and young people gain adequate knowledge and a better understanding of human rights and fundamental freedoms in every aspect of people’s lives.

The training was attended by 19 young people aged between 15 and 17 from two schools in Blagoevgrad – Language High School “Acad. L. Stoyanov ”and PMG“ Acad. S. Kolarov ”.

Creative pedagogical materials on human rights were presented to the group and engaged students in various exercises. Students were discussing ideas about initiatives related to child’s rights and women’s rights.  The main highlighted advantages of the presented methodology,  according the students, were related to its interactivity and clarity and the acquired knowledge, techniques and tools were very practical.
